  • Wish to avoid stress at the start or end of a trip, or possibly avoid missing a flight due to traffic

Top 7 Best Hotels Near JFK Airport for a Stress-Free and Convenient Stay:

JFK Airport Hotel Overview

Because most airport hotels are strictly designed with serving travelers, not vacationers, they are usually not destinations themselves. With one grand exception, this is true of all the JFK airport hotels.

This guide will help you find accommodations that are reasonably priced, comfortable, and within 3 miles (5 km) of JFK airport. If you are coming to experience the grandeur of New York City, we recommend accommodations in the city if your budget allows.

Need a ride from the airport to the hotel? Many JFK hotels offer free shuttle services, also known as airport-to-hotel transfers, between JFK terminals and the hotels’ front doors. Those that do this are indicated in the descriptions below. For hotels that do not have their own free shuttle, you will need to arrange and pay for your hotel airport transfer. One convenient way to find an airport transfer, car service, or other traveler-oriented private transportation option is through Jayride.

1. The One Grand Exception

The TWA Hotel is the remodeled landmark Trans World Airlines Flight Center near Terminal 5. It is the only hotel located in the airport; the others are a few miles away and require airport-to-hotel transfers or other arranged transportation.

The TWA Hotel has 512 rooms with views of JFK’s runways and the Flight Center. It also has restaurants, bars, retail stores, meeting and event spaces, an infinity pool, a fitness center, jet-age museum exhibits, and even a Twister Room where you can play a wall-to-wall version of the popular game from the 1960s. The luxury rooms here go for a premium, so if you’re on a budget, it’s a great place to visit but perhaps not stay the night. Since it’s at the airport, you won’t need a shuttle from the airport to the hotel

FAQs - Frequently asked questions

.

As you can imagine, JFK is a busy, noisy place. You can sleep in the terminals, but besides the noise, you’ll need to deal with armrests, finding a safe place for your belongings, and no privacy. If you don’t mind paying, you can book a room at the TWA Hotel, use the sleep pods in Terminal 5, or take a shuttle from the airport to a hotel. See the list above for our recommendations.

The pods cost $12 per 15-minute increment with a minimum of one hour ($48). After two hours, 15-minute increments cost $9.50. The pods are located in Terminal 5 and are coming soon to Terminal 4. Each pod comes with a leather mattress that has a breathable screen on top. There is space under the bed for luggage storage, and quick chargers are provided for electronic devices. The pods are lockable for your safety and security.

Many JFK airport and area hotels offer a courtesy shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Check with your specific hotel to see if they provide this service. To catch one of the hotel courtesy shuttles at JFK airport, take the AirTrain to Federal Circle Station. If your hotel does not offer a free shuttle, use Jayride to find a ride from the airport to your hotel.
